Ceremonial Fire & Drum Circle

Did humans gather together in the dark of night before the stewardship of fire? Or did those first flint-sparked and chaga-ember seeded fires call us together, to share the wonder and mystery of our night sky, within the safety of light and warmth these fires provided? Gathering around the fire has been a sacred pastime for millennia across land masses and cultures for the benefit of heat, food, storytelling, and song. Fire invites intention, fosters imagination, burns away fears and that which no longer serves us, and is an embodiment of raw creation and destruction.  We honor this tradition as a ceremonial space meant to spark awareness, bring the warmth of community, and to brighten our paths.

Elders and Wisdom Keepers from Council for Peace share indigenous wisdom and ancient stories. Storytelling is the lifeblood of culture. It is through our stories that we share meaning and knowledge. Storytelling symbolizes our deep past and future dreams, unifying us with shared visions and experiences of the tapestry of life.

We welcome and invite drums into this space and host morning and evening drum circles. The drum beat symbolizes our heart and breath and unifies the energetic field of all those present. The ‘Drum Circle’ inspires community, connection, unity, and healing.

At the heart of the ceremonial fire is an invitation into listening, to ourselves, to the elements, to our ancestors and to each other. The ceremonial fire is a place where all are welcome. Bring your heart, your songs, your prayers and your deep listening.
