Chase Nugent aka NewGent is an old school, storytelling Rapper and DJ from Southern California. NewGent’s focus is to spread a conscious message through lyricism and wordplay to bridge the gap between hip hop and bass music. Despite his roots in 90’s hip hop, NewGent has always had an obsession with experimental bass music ranging from psychedelic glitch hop to deep dubstep, halftime and drum and bass. NewGent has played countless shows in California, Massachusetts and beyond, including appearances at the Untz Festival, Serenity Gathering and more. His sets are always meticulously designed to create a lively, entertaining experience with a balanced dose of hip hop lyricism and low end bass music. Influenced by artists such as Koan Sound, Tipper, Detox Unit, Atmosphere, The Widdler and Ternion Sound, NewGent is always trying to level up his game by constantly creating new music and staying on top of the freshest underground bass music in the scene!
