Lester Mooney

Lester

Lester has always been drawn towards the spotlight. Growing up as the youngest in a family of four kids he strived to be at the same level as his older siblings throughout all of their creative outlets. Realizing that he was blessed with the gift of balance and agility he first took to skateboarding and snowboarding to express himself. He was introduced to the art of fire dancing at the Oregon Country Fair and has been enthralled by its beauty and mesmerizing movement ever since. Today Lester is known for his jaw-dropping performances as he takes fire dancing to unimaginable new heights. He spreads the knowledge that he has learned openly and continually seeks inspiration from those open to sharing. He specializes in double staff, contact staff, and poi and has recently been developing his hoop groove. He runs a very successful business (Fire Groove) with his two sisters Hannah and Kamala that has helped spread the art form to those people interested in learning. Scheduled Workshops

  • Double Staff Techniflow
Day: Friday | Duration: 75 min. | Location: Spin Cycle

This class will focus on how to flow with technical double staff moves. Much of it's focus will be on using simple moves and body positions that we may not have explored before to unlock blockages in our spinning and create flow. I will also explore some types of isolations and anti-spins and how to easily move in and out of them. The goal here is to remove any distinction between our circular spinning and geometric spinning so once again there are not any blockages and more flow created.
