Bill ‘Tucano Quintal” Stark

Tucano (Bill Stark) is an ignited and passionate individual who’s unbounded self expression lies deeply in the spontaneous and free movement art of Capoeira. Based in San Francisco at The Center SF, he teaches Capoeira to people of all ages transforming individuals bodies and minds through the mindful cultivation of embodied freedom. As a student of experience it is Tucano’s understanding that if we free the body, the mind will follow. In one word Tucano describes his Capoeira as “freedom,” and delivers workshops that cultivate this free and creative art in the hands of his students. Tucano believes that the world around us is none other than a reflection of the created inside world; and that Capoeira is the way that we learn to swim, fly, dive, and pulse with our bodies, reflecting the infinite spontaneity and freedom of consciousness.
Tucano believes strongly in the aligning forces that Capoeira has on ones multi-dimensional being. In theory we can never be truly balanced as human beings, but we can be powerfully aligned. What we are capable of creating in Capoeira is a powerful alignment of our bodies, minds, and spirits with the world, given its inherent asymmetries.
