Andrew Ecker

Andrew Ecker is a professional drum circle facilitator with over 17 years of drumming experience. His love of community drumming began in the early 90’s in his home town of Portland, Oregon. People would gather and play drums in the parks and on the water front sharing songs, poetry and dance. As a witness to the powerful drum circle dynamics such as the creation of safe place to express and be human Andrew realized the healing power of the drum in his own life and now carries that expressive tool to all intentional drum circle he facilitates.
A strong desire to help people connect through drumming led Andrew to train with prominent mind/body/wellness and community drum circle facilitators including Arthur Hull who is considered the father of facilitated drumming (www.drumcircle.com/about/arthur-bio.), Christine Stevens, MA MSW (www.ubdrumcircles.com), Dr. Barry Bittman , MD (www.mind-body.org/bittman.html), and Larry Dickson MA, LPC, NCC (www.remo.com/portal/hr/index.html). Mr. Ecker holds certificates of training completion from “Village Music Circles”, “Health Rhythms Adolescent Protocol” “Health Rhythms Group Empowerment Drumming” and “Health Rhythms Advanced Strategies” protocol - the very first evidenced-based healing modality utilizing recreational music.
Andrew has had the honor of working with an expansive group of clients and community organizers including: “The Havasupai Nation”, “Cancer Treatment Centers of America”, the “Phoenix Zoo”, “Duet”, “Arizona Adult Health Services”, “Foundation for Senior Living” “Desert Botanical Garden “(PAPA) “City of Phoenix” “Luke Air Force Base Youth Program”, “Area agency on aging” . Some of his many other diverse clients include faith communities, schools, senior living and challenged adult facilities, and children’s groups. It is Andrew’s life mission to unite and heal people.
