James Kyson

James is an actor currently recurring on the FX drama Justified. Voted by TV Guide as “”Hollywood’s 25 Hottest”", he is most known from his role as ‘Ando’ on NBC’s Heroes. A native of NYC, James graduated from Bronx H.S. of Science, then went on to study communications & broadcasting at Boston University, and New England Institute of the Arts. After a stint in a hip-hop group in college, and trying out improv comedy, James moved to LA on a one-way ticket & a single suitcase, where he began his training in music, dance, and acting. His other TV credits include CBS’ Hawaii Five-O, CSI, JAG; NBC’s Las Vegas, the West Wing, Heist, as well as ABC’s Threat Matrix, & CW’s All about the Andersons.James has also starred in features films Shutter, Star Runners, and How to make Love to a Woman.

James hosts a bi-weekly Spoken & Word & Poetry gathering in Los Angeles with Poets Nataly Patterson (DPL, Soul Pancake) & Traci Kiriyama (TNC), and singer/songwriters also perform & share. He is inspired by celebrating artistry & creativity, and is looking to bring the same type of environment & energy to Lucidity. James plays basketball for The Hollywood Knights, a charity celebrity team, and participated in Robbie Williams’ Soccer Aid for UNICEF, at Manchester United’s Old Trafford in England. An avid outdoorsman, he also enjoys scuba diving & playing ultimate frisbee.

    Our mission is to elevate consciousness & invite healing, joy, and love through writing & sharing poetry & spoken word.

    We’ll begin with some free writing, share where each person is coming from, and use different writing prompts & exercises to work on the following: vulnerability & integrity as an artist/human being, confidence, the process of writing, editing, creating the space to be judgment free, performance strategies, & empowerment to help achieve your specific goals.
