Connect with the Warrior’s Way Community on Facebook

In traditional cultures the Warrior was the great protector, often following a solitary and detached path of intense training and self-cultivation, and forsaking his own desires to ensure the safety and well-being of the community. Being a Warrior entailed far more than simple physical prowess, however; mental and emotional cultivation were equally important in the Warrior’s self-formation.

While the form of the Warrior has shifted in our society, it is not gone. We each face numerous struggles in the world, and have daily opportunities to develop ourselves into spiritual Warriors cultivating our mental, emotional, and physical strength in order to support and assist our brothers and sisters. Guarded by the White Tiger, the Warrior’s Way village holds space for the discussion and practice of the skills of the Warrior in the many forms they take.

Our village offers several spaces for the cultivation of the Warrior’s craft. The Warrior’s Arena offers workshops focused on energy awareness and cultivation through tai chi and qi gong, martial arts in the form of Kenpo, and movement through capoeira and dance. Additionally it will host workshops on traditional skills such as sustainable animal harvesting and the awareness of nature, as it is crucial for the Warrior to have an intimate familiarity and respect for the world in which he lives. Saturday and Sunday evenings our village will host drum and dance circles, bringing out the Warrior spirit in its full glory of community connection and celebration.

Our Spin Cycle area is dedicated to object manipulation, with special emphasis on poi, staff, hoop, and similar dance and movement arts. The Warrior is comfortable with many tools, and knows well how to use what is available to him to achieve his honorable ends. This space will provide the opportunity for all Warriors and aspiring Warriors to feel the free flow and dance that comes with the ability to guide objects in one’s space.

Lastly, within our village you will find the Lucidity Festival Intention Tree, located on the border of Warrior’s Way and the Healing Sanctuary. Recognizing that all that we do as humans gains significance and becomes more potent when done with intention, we invite all Lucidity guests to spend some time at the tree to recognize the depth and mystery behind our living experience, to express gratitude for the opportunity to be present, and to set intention for the Self and for the greater whole.

Our village guardian is the White Tiger, a solitary protector with a passionate yet disciplined spirit. White Tiger can be powerful and fierce, yet these attributes are kept calm beneath a majestic and noble demeanor. White Tiger was a symbol of serene strength and power in Japan and China where the tiger, rather than the lion, was the “king of beasts.” In ancient times, the head of the White Tiger graced the shields of soldiers entering battle, the entrances to important fortifications, and the bows of the Emperor’s fastest ships. The spirit of the white tiger combines the courage and fierceness of a soldier with an ethereal, magisterial dignity.

Tiger is a solitary protector with a passionate yet disciplined spirit. While Tiger can be powerful and fierce, these attributes are kept calm beneath a majestic and noble demeanor. If Tiger is your spirit animal you are adventurous, sensual, physical, and you do your best work at night. The humble Tiger can be found holding down the Warrior’s Way.
