Who has ever seen an animal appear in their dreams? A wolf or a fox, an eagle or a hummingbird? What do these visions mean, and what do they have to teach us about ourselves and our connection to others? During The Totems’ Return last spring, we played with these questions and engaged in a deep exploration of spirit animals and the various aspects of self they represent. Through different village environments, Lucidity created a waking dreamscape where the animal energies were invited to come to life through each of us.

At the Arlington on October 4 we’ll once again be evoking these animal spirits and curating village spaces from our full festival concept that happens each April at the Live Oak Campground. We’re super excited to have all the Village Elders and their crews engaged and activated. With the support of our non-profit partners and community collaborators we’ve envisioned and planned an array of activities and environments to give you a taste of what an immersive and participatory Lucidity experience is all about. Which village and which totem animal feels most familiar? We invite you to follow that feeling and see what comes up.

One intention of the villages is to hold space for healing and transformation, as in the Wise Owl Healing Sanctuary, where massages, Reiki and Access Consciousness sessions will be offered, along with Sound Healing, Meditation, Qigong, and an interactive medicinal plant Garden presented by Earthjing.

Other villages offer a more light-hearted environment, such as the Trickster’s Playground, home of the playful coyote, which will be represented by the infamous Pyrobar; and the Nomad’s Nook DJ Stage, right on State Street, where the wild Monkey spirit (creative, imaginative, carefree and exuberant) invites us all to dance our hearts out!

Warrior’s Way will be surrounding the dance stage with the energy of the Humble Tiger, calling forth a passionate yet disciplined spirit. While Tiger can be powerful and fierce, these attributes are kept calm beneath a majestic and noble demeanor. Between 3pm and 5pm, Martial art demos and classes will be offered.

In the Family Garden area, come as your inner child, ready to explore the world anew, and learn what the Courageous Dragon has to teach you through the interactive experiences offered by Save the Mermaids and the Solvang Faerie Fest.

Adjoining the Healing Sanctuary will be home to Goddess Dome where card readings, face painting and a sheltered environment to explore one’s connection to the divine feminine will be offered.

Last but not least, we invite you to explore Lover’s Nest, and the archetype of the twin flame represented by the Loving Dove animal spirit. In the beautiful Arlington patio we will be creating a space for mindful heart-centered communication and for the qualities of both gentleness and passion.

Through the evocation of animal spirits, Lucidity villages create safe and fruitful energetic containers inviting us to explore different aspects of ourselves and how we interact with each other and the greater community. While participating in Rising Vibes for the Universe, consider asking yourself: where do I feel most in alignment? what experiences do I resonate with? where am I challenged and how can I open to these growth edges and heal? how can the archetypal traits of the full pantheon of spirit animals guide me through certain experiences?
