We all know sharing is a big part of the festival ethos and experience.
Personally, I love to share things I’ve made myself. It’s a great way of showing love and caring for other folks with something that you personally created and poured your heart into.
Bringing some homemade snacks to festival fills the gap between meals or gives you a little boost when you’re in need of those late night munchies.
Here are some simple no fail ideas that anyone can whip up in just a little time. Your friends and Lucidity family will love you for it!
Grain Free Granola
This grain free granola is tasty as heck, simple to make, and accommodates a lot of different dietary styles!

Ingredients:
- 3 cups unsweetened coconut flakes
- 1 1/2 cups sliced almonds
- 1 cup shelled raw pumpkin seeds (pepitas)
- 1/2 cup sesame seeds
- 1/2 cup raw sunflower seeds
- 2 tablespoons chia seeds (optional)
- 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 300°F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Toss coconut, almonds, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, chia seeds, if using, salt, cinnamon, and cardamom in a large bowl.
- Cook syrup, coconut oil, and vanilla in a small pot or sauce pan over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until hot and easily pourable. This takes about 1 minute.
- Once it’s good and hot, pour over dry ingredients and stir to combine. Spread mixture evenly on prepared baking sheet and bake. Stir once halfway through, until golden-brown and crisp, about 25 minutes.
- In an airtight container this can last at least a week (what the original recipe recommends but I’ve done it for much more).
Some other great snack ideas include: Energy bites, jerky, dried fruits/veggies, baked goods, and trail mix. The options are truly limitless!

Aloe Vera Gel
Another great idea for homemade goodies is to bring along some nice self care products like aloe vera gel.
Aloe vera comes from the succulent itself and works wonders on burns (including sunburns), acne, dry skin, small cuts, and bug bites. It’s practically a homemade festival skincare super weapon! It’s super easy to prepare too.
If you want to bring some handmade things with you but are facing a last minute packing crunch, this is the perfect item to come equipped with.
Instructions:
- Take aloe vera leaf and cut off the ends and sides.
- Carefully separate the top part of the leaf from the bottom and the gel inside.
- You can scrape out the gel inside into a container: it is a translucent color .
- For a smoother consistency you can put the gel into a food processor or mash by hand with a fork.
- Essential oils make an awesome mix in to give a little scent or added healing properties.

Electrolyte Drink
We all know that staying hydrated is the most essential step to surviving a weekend of fun at a festival. However, hydration is a little more complex than just making sure you drink lots of water.
Electrolytes play a very important role in your hydration. While many electrolyte containing drinks contain a lot of sugar and other artificial garbage (hint food coloring is not an electrolyte) it’s really easy to make your own add ins for water that will balance things out.
Coconut water, citrus fruit, and a pinch of sea salt can be added to your water for an electrolyte boost. If you really need a little sweetness, raw honey and maple syrup are unrefined sugars that are easier on your body.
Here’s an example of a tasty ratio to try out:

Ingredients:
- 1 ½-2 cups water
- Juice of ½ lemon or orange
- 1/8 to 1/4 tsp real sea salt Himalayan, or Celtic
- 2 tsp raw local honey or Maple Syrup
Instructions:
- Pour everything into a jar with a lid and shake well to combine. This recipe fits perfect in a pint mason jar.
- Store in the fridge up to a week.
- OR serve it up cold on ice!
