Community doesn’t just feel good. It tastes great too!
One of the (many) things that makes the Lucidity experience extra special is our Mindful Feeding Pass. We offer attendees the option to purchase a pass to the same kitchen where we feed our hard working staff.
The pass provides you with five locally sourced, organic vegetarian meals made possible by our partners at the Isla Vista Food Coop. The included meals are dinner Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and Brunch Saturday and Sunday.
It’s super easy to go “off diet” while away from home and having so much fun.
The Mindful Feeding pass takes many diets into consideration including vegan and gluten-free, and does so in a downright tasty way. Not only will you get five meals, but the Feeding Pass also reduces work, stress, and packing.
All those shopping bags full of food, camping stoves, and propane tanks take up valuable space in your vehicle and energy from hauling and from parking to camp.
You won’t have to worry about setting up your own kitchen and dining space or preparing your meals. Plus, less waste…hello!
The Power of Communal Eating
Your meals will be served at The Commissary, a fantastic meeting place where you can connect with others and make new friends.
It’s a space to take some time to reflect on your day and learn about parts of the festival you haven’t experienced yet. Some very special moments can be found in the corners of a festival you won’t find on our mapdana.
You can meet new members of your Lucid Family, or hear stories from old friends, or let it serve as a place to convene with your crew.
Eating together isn’t just fun but also better for you. In America we have an emphasis on being productive and not wasting time.
We eat quickly as a function of necessity and often don’t take the time to appreciate where our food came from, what went into its preparation, cultivation, and how necessary it is to our survival.
Writer Michael Pollan said, “spend as much time enjoying the meal as it took to prepare it”. This is a fantastic practice in mindfulness as well as gratitude, two tools that are really useful to maintaining better mental and physical health.
Taking time to chew fully and taste completely better aid digestion and helps with portion control. Did you know it takes roughly 20 minutes for your body to send signals to your brain that you are full? If you rush you’re much more likely to overeat.
At a festival we are immersed in such an exciting and stimulating environment. It can be appealing to just eat and run, or dance as the case may be.
Taking some time to connect with your family (biological or otherwise) can help strengthen your bonds and solidify relationships. Family meal time is also very important thing for developing children.
It can reenforce many good habits, not limited to eating but also give them a more stable background through the aid of teaching them about community and responsibility.
Snag your Mindful Feeding Pass from our ticketing page. $90 for 5 meals. Seniors $70 and Children $40.
