We need to talk. At first, I thought it was all I needed. Just a soundcloud mix here and a 2-hour local set there would be enough. Simple. Easy. Nobody gets hurt, right? But it’s not enough anymore, you know? The good people at Music is Love tried to warn me about your musical advances but I didn’t heed their advice. I just surrendered to it and now I can’t get that set out of my mind. I had hoped that seeing you dazzle the packed house at the SOhO in Santa Barbara would satiate my desire for your signature fun-time funk.

But, it wasn’t.

It only reminded me that I need more Pumpkin in my life. That things just aren’t the same without you. Surely, you knew your music would make me feel this way. 🙁

I think it all started when you hit the decks with your own special Charlie Brown mix. We all tried to do the footwork Snoopy would throw when it was time to cut a rug, but I think most of us just ended up looking like Charlie Brown kicking a football. Acorns tumbled over one another as bouncy rhythm swept us away with the beat. It was a pure, clumsy joy. I laughed so hard that I almost cried, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I know that I’m not the only one who feels this way about you, but I’m glad there’s enough of you to go around. 🙂

Thanks for bringing the love. I can’t wait to do that again.
