Fishbon Arts and Science Collaborative

Fishbon

Fishbon is a foundation part of the Lucidity Festival. The festival might likely not have ever happened if not for the magnetic effective of this Santa Barbara arts incubator bringing the founding team together as well as encircling a community of extraordinary dreamers. Specializing in the estranged, deranged, irreverent, theatrical, whimsical, environmental hard hitting science, technology, Fishbon is but the tip of an iceberg yet to be fully discovered. Find originator Alan Macy and his team of masters and educators around the Lucid University campus and neighborhood.

Fishbon’s purpose is to provide a forum, education and support for creative collaboration, mentorship and visceral experiences of visual, aural and performance-based art. It is also to provide exhibition media for the artists and their art forms. The home of Fishbon is the Pescadrome, a 2 story tall art building, managed by its community.

Fishbon’s mission is to encourage collaboration between artists, technologists, writers, designer, performers and participants to create unique, real-time, compelling aesthetic experiences that speak to contemporary audiences.

By providing content, physical infrastructure, tools, mentoring support and encouragement for creative collaboration, Fishbon is an experiential incubator for emerging cooperative working models. Much more about the process experience than the final product, Fishbon creates a diverse “interactive” learning community that would be difficult to achieve in isolated individual working environments.

Fishbon is a 501 (c) (3) arts organization, founded in 2000.
