Michael Zeligs

As a performer of live music, a recording artist, and a workshop facilitator, Michael Zeligs helps create immersive Kirtan / devotional music experiences for singers of all levels. Michael holds a BA in Music from Stanford University in California.

He has played numerous devotional music venues since 2010, including shared tours and performances with Ayla Nereo of Wildlight, Pepper Proud of YAIMA, East Forest, and Jens Jarvie. Michael’s music performance is often invited to accompany yoga classes. Michael’s experience as a voice coach and facilitator is combined with advanced level training in Emotional Freedom Technique to provide new singers with a comprehensive toolkit for dealing with powerful and oftentimes surpassing affects of learning to sing. His music has recently been selected for distribution with yoga music label YogiTunes.

Workshops include time for exploring how to remove blocks to the voice through EFT, ways to form heart intentions and use sound as a healing tool, and an understanding of the link with vocal practice and empowerment of the energy body through prayerful use of the voice. Michael’s musical stewardship and group facilitation elicits a magical tapestry of healing voices from the crowd by inviting others to sing in sacred spirit and light the flame of their own courage!

    In this workshop, you will learn to liberate yourself from familiar fears around your voice and join your community in expressing yourself through sacred song! Connect with your innate singer and come out feeling stronger and more engaged in the kirtan experience.

    This workshop incorporates key vocal exercises for strengthening the voice, as well as a basic introduction to the use of Emotional Freedom Technique and embodied psychotherapy to address common fears around expressing yourself and your voice. Then we move into energized, compassionate, and emotionally available group kirtan with Michael leading chants and conducting ceremony with the harmonium.
