Christopher Redman

Chris Van Redman was born in San Diego and grew up in foster homes for the first 5 years of his life after being separated from his biological parents. Growing up, Chris often felt like a black sheep, not knowing his origins but trying to find his identity. Chris’ experiences in life shaped both the path he walked and the people he met. From being homeless to receiving a full scholarship to UC Berkeley for art & engineering, Chris has no doubt lived more life than some of his peers. “Art saved my life,” is a phrase commonly uttered by the experimental street artist. Chris’ style is both pre-determined and intuitive; he combines linear and graphical representation with lucid, free form color experiments. His background in electrical engineering, architecture and fine art provides an interesting visual interpretation of the world we all inhabit.
