If you do not have a wristband you will be escorted out of the event. If you lose your wristband you will need to purchase another one.
A person in possession of a wristband which has been tampered with or altered in any way is subject to ejection from the festival grounds without refund.
General Parking
As long as there are two or more occupants per vehicle - parking is free in general parking, located outside of the event. If you are a single occupancy driver, be prepared to pay the $20 parking fee. Ride-share services are provided @ http://www.rideshare.us/page.php?next=eventdisplay&lookup=Lucidity.
Help us co-create a safe and effective parking experience by not leaving valuables in your vehicles.
RV & Car Camping Passes
We are keeping the numbers of RV passes and Car Camping passes at a relatively low level. This comes from a desire to keep the village energy and aesthetic at a high vibration. We may be inviting some RVs and Car Camping passes to arrive on Thursday. If you desire to arrive early submit a justification to [email protected]. RV camping does not guarantee tent-camping space, RV camping may be separate from the campgrounds - located just outside the entrance to the festival.
Camping
Camping is included in the 3-day camping pass, and is optional with the 2-day weekend pass. There are 6 Archetypal themed villages that provide ample space for all our participants, with beautiful oak trees that provide shade throughout most of the camping areas. You may wish to bring your own shade structures to ensure your camp has adequate coverage throughout the day. Camping is first come first serve.
Plan for hot days and cold nights, with a chance of rain. (45-75F temperature range) There will be some shade/rain structures throughout the event grounds, in some workshop areas and village circles.
There is a stream that lines the outside parameter of the event that is inaccessible and off limits. Mountain lions live in this area, do not wander outside of the festival grounds, especially at night!
Camp Fires & Grills
Absolutely no open flames - this includes no fire pits, no charcoal BBQs, and no burn barrels. Propane grills and camp stoves are permitted, however food will be available - provided by conscious food vendors, regulated by SolFood (Sustainable, Organic, and Local), as well as a local Farmers Market available daily. We encourage the use of food provided through the festival as we are being conscious to make it both affordable and healthy - and it creates less waste and trash than bringing in your own.
The only open flame is the venue’s central campfire which will be maintained by staff throughout the event. This common location is available on a first come first serve basis, but please self monitor your use if there are people waiting to spend time there as well.
Water & Trash
If you bring garbage or packaging we ask that you plan to pack it out when you leave. There will be recycle, trash, and composting bins available. And we are working toward creating a zero-waste environment. Help by bringing reusable eating utensils, plates, cups, and cloth napkins, and by removing products from packaging and cardboard boxes before coming.
Water is provided on site so no need for plastic water bottles - in fact, we discourage the use of plastic water containers as they are not only poisonous but destructive to the Earth. Please plan to pack your own trash out.
Elevating the Leave No Trace philosophy, our goal is to leave it “better than before” we arrived. We aim to find ways to make improvements to the grounds, and take steps toward stewarding the land, trees, and animals in a way that is respectful to our planet.
Medical
We have trained professional medical care available on site. The medical team will be positioned at the main Medic pavilion, located near the information center between the showers and food preparation zone, with 2 smaller first aid stations within the festival grounds. Medical personnel will be identifiable by red shirts.
In case of emergency alert the nearest staff member ASAP.
Workshops & Healing Services
All Workshops, Bodywork, and Healing services are included in the price of your entry and fee-free throughout the event! Take advantage of learning a new modality and/or meet inspiring teachers and fellow students. These workshop facilitators and healers are all volunteering their time and energy in sharing their gifts with you - please respond in kind - gratitude, barter, gift exchange, and even tips in the form of money will all be graciously accepted.
Lucidity offers 4 villages with workshop zones. Look in our program to see the workshop schedule for the Healing Sanctuary, The Lover’s Nest, The Family Garden, and The Warrior’s Way.
Dream Rangers (Security)
Our Dream Rangers are here to assist in creating the most enjoyable experience for each participant. We value our participants as part of our family and only intend to create space for safety and a comfortable environment. Please respect and honor these dedicated compassionate rangers - they are powerful allies and act as a barrier between participants and outside agencies. We are all here to have a good time!

- Bring 3 trash bags to your campsite to keep your recyclables and compost separate from your trash. Leave no trace - leave our site and the park better than you found it.
- A reusable water bottle. Stainless steel is the best.
- Reusable eating utensils. Even the food court will allow use of your own washable plate!
- Gifts for new and old friends - great for trade & barter
- Two gifts for our community mandala so you can take one as you leave.
- Flashlight, headlamp, cool neon, anything else to light yourself and your way
- No Glowsticks! These pretty little lights become landfill and/or are difficult to recylce. LED lights can be found everywhere these days. No Excuses - No Exceptions - No Glowsticks. Tell a friend.
- Costumes (we know you won’t forget)! decorative lighting, lots of blinkies and other things to decorate and light yourself. Did we mention no glowsticks?!
- Art, musical instruments, props, banners, signs, and anything else you can think of that might make the experience more fun for all
- Camping gear - especially if you want privacy! Ideally waterproof. Tents and tarps need to be free-standing. Consider a few large garbage bags to protect your gear from your leaking tent and possible water flow coming in through the floor. A good idea is to set a tarp down as a ground cloth inside the tent
- Shade structures, umbrellas, parasols, sheets, canopy, tarps, tent, parachute; something to break the strong mid-day sun and/ or rain
- Tennis balls (or recycled plastic bottles) to top and protect dangerous re-bar stakes or other hazards

- Earplugs (if you’re a light sleeper)
- Garbage bags – Keep it clean. Keep it green!
- Any prescription medications, contact lens supplies (disposables work great), and whatever else you need to maintain your health and comfort in a remote area with no services
- Be conscious of your contact with the sun. We do not endorse the use of sunblock or sun-glasses - the sun is good for you; grow your relationship with respect needed to avoid sunburns.
- Solid sandals or close-toed shoes and flip flops
- First aid kit
- Yoga mat
- Portable chairs
- Love and commUnity spirit
Green Camp Contest Information:
Go Green at Lucidity
Win Free Gear From one of our Sponsors & LUCIDITY FALL FESTIVAL 2012 Tickets – Prize Package valued at over 600$. Register your green campsite with us at the festival….
Image….Waking up to a solar heated mug of organic tea, tunes scream from the wind powered portable radio hanging on a tree nearby while you plug your cell phone into a portable solar unit to charge for the day. The neighbor across the way sips down his morning smoothie mixed with the power of his wind up bicycle blender and a group of children run by collecting recyclables to make art with.
…You Smile
Welcome to a Greener LUCIDITY camping experience.
As you adventure through the Campgrounds, solar powered lanterns and LED lights from fellow campers lead you to your DIY tent where your new best friend is grubbing down on some sautéed veggies and turkey dogs that he’s left cooking in his solar oven. You’re a bit sweaty from dancing all night so you jump under your solar heated reusable shower with biodegradable shampoo, grab a beer from your thermoelectric cooler, and get cozy in your brother’s “hand me down” sleeping bag.
Lucidity and the Greenest Campsite contest are actively working to make this the greenest festival around. Green your campsite and win tons of prizes, free gear from our sponsors, and even tickets for the fall Lucidity festival planned for October. Be creative, inventive, and use your sustainable skill to impress our judges as they peruse the grounds. Make the camp your own and let your green imagination run wild.
At the most essential level, think consciously about what you bring onto the grounds, separate your trash from recyclables, take your waste with you when you leave, and avoid leaving litter around your site. Bring plastic garbage bags and compo stable bags to handle your waste, and take it all with you, or contribute your pre-sorted food scraps to our compost station. Lets work together to keep our campsite beautiful and enjoy the benefits of a “leave no trace” mentality.
Winners will be chosen based on the following criteria:
Reduce/Reuse/Recycle:
- How clean is your campsite?
- Are you recycling or composting?
- Are you using biodegradable or reusable plates, cups, utensils?
Eco-Friendly Gear:
- What kind of tent and sleeping bag are you using? Is it new or used? Made with eco-friendly material?
- What kind of stoves or cooking equipment are you using?
- What kind of lights shine in your camp?
- Are you using tarp or more sustainable materials?
Power:
- How are you providing energy in your camp - solar/batteries? Are you using reusable batteries?
Transportation:
- How did you get to the festival? Did you carpool or use public transportation?
- Are you offsetting your journey?
Grab Bag:
- Are you using solar lights/lanterns, hand powered green radio/products, alt gear?
Creativity/Style:
- How did you make your camp different than all the others? DIY techniques? Can you show us your innovative tents, energy use, solar showers, or cooking practices? Show your style! What’s your decor all about?
Some tips for having the greenest campsite:
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
- Use unbreakable and reusable dishes, cups, utensils
- Leave all glass bottles at home.
- Avoid disposable cups, paper, and Styrofoam alternatives
- Avoid bringing items that you know will be thrown away
- Used gear: old tents, blankets, pillows, and sleeping bags- don’t buy new gear just for this festival- borrow from your friends or family, buy used gear, or rent.

Lucidity FAQ Sheet
Festival Hours
When do the doors open?
We invite you to show up anytime after 12:01 am Friday morning.
When do I have to leave?
We ask that you are out by noon on Monday the 16th
If I am performing, offering a workshop, a food or merchant vendor, or a volunteer healer - can I get early access?
Yes. Early admittance for you is Thursday morning, April 12, as early as 8am. . Theme camps with more than one day build time and/or large Art Installations are asked to come earlier - please contact [email protected] and make arrangements.
Tickets
Can you buy tickets in person somewhere?
We will be offering them locally in Santa Barbara @ Bizerk. There is likely to be a location in Los Angeles and the Bay Area, stay tuned! If we haven’t sold out, tickets will be available at the door.
Anyway to win a ticket?
Yes, we continue to launch Facebook contests. Please stay active and participate when made available. We have had local raffles for tickets and there will be radio promotions in some markets - keep your ears open and eyes peeled!
-Does my ticket include camping?
3-day camping passes do include camping.
2-day passes are camping optional.
1 day pass does not include camping.
What’s the difference between “car camping” and “single occupant car pass”…which one do i pick if i want my car parked near our camp?
Car Camping is what is needed to park your vehicle inside the event, with your camp. While Single Occupant Car Pass is the $20 fee if you show up to Lucidity alone in your car. To park for free in general parking, bring another Dreamer in your vehicle!
When we buy our ticket it asks which village we would like to be our preferred campground. Does this lock us into camping in a certain area? Can we change this after point of purchase?
No… we are merely trying to get a general sense of what camps people are most drawn to. You can camp anywhere you are called!
I heard u have to buy a camping pass on top of the festival ticket, is this true? Or is the camping included with the festival ticket..?
NO, camping is included in the 3- and 2-day ‘camping’ pass. You have the option of purchasing a car-camping pass which allows you to park your vehicle in your camp with you. If you do not get the car camping pass then you park in general parking and walk your stuff in. Everything is within easy walking distance. If you only purchase a car camping pass, you will still have to purchase a festival pass to get into the event.
Parking
How does parking work?
Please arrive with ID ready, printed smart code ticket, or hard ticket. Follow the directions of our Parking Staff - the DreamCatchers. You will be processed, tagged, and released. We may check in with you periodically to see where you’ve been so we can start getting data on your migration patterns!
If you are a single occupancy vehicle, also have the $20 parking fee ready for the DreamCatchers. All ride-share & carpool vehicles park for free, outside the festival in the parking location.
Each Car Camping pass allows for one vehicle to enter the festival. Each person is required to have their own 3- or 2-day camping pass in order for admittance to Lucidity.
Can we bring bicycles?
Everything within Lucidity is within walking distance. If you feel the need to bring your bike, consider decorating it, and please operate and store it in a fashion that promotes safety.
Camping
How does car camping work? Does everyone camp together, but some cars are allowed in?
All Camping is restricted to the 6 Archetypal villages. Car camping allows you to park vehicles at your campsite (in the village you are camping within.) If you do not purchase a car camping pass, then you park your vehicle in general parking outside the main gate and walk in. There are a limited number of Car Camping passes. We encourage camps with multiple people to pitch in and use Car Camping as a way to bring multiple participants equipment and gear to the camp.
Once we are placed in a village, do we have free reign to set up camp?? If we want to camp theme camp style, can we set up a stage for performances? Is there room for that?
All Camping is restricted to the 6 Archetypal villages. Within each there is a village circle - please respect the areas created by the infrastructure as well as those of your camp-mates. Each village provides ample camping space for many Dreamers. This is an open-source event, you are invited to bring and do what you like as long as you are respectful and are compassionate to the needs and experiences of others.
We cool to run a generator?
Please be conscious of generator placement and the hours of use. If you are unsure, error on the side of being considerate of your camp-mates. Consider bringing and decorating a generator cover - plywood walls with an open top. If you do not feel artistic, allow it to be a Live Art collaboration!
Can we post up theme camp style?
Check out our villages, they are based on Archetypal themes… and yes, we encourage theme camps! Contact us before hand if you would like to discuss which village might best represent your theme camp - email [email protected] We have several confirmed: Grateful Fridays, Camp Contact, Hug Nation, PleasAir, Solstice, the Collective Exp, and many more.
Is there an official sign up for our camps or do we just show up to the camp we have connected with?
There is no official sign-up process for camps. Please touch base with those you’ll be camping with in advance and you’ll be directed to the village when being greeted. If you are coming with a large camp or theme camp, please feel free to join the Village Facebook page you plan to camp in, and collaborate with other Dreamers camping in your village.
Will there be a RV/Trailer camping area?
Yes. Top portion of the parking lot, just outside the entrance is reserved for RV parking.
Is this festival a camp out/ bring your own tent function?
Yes. Please bring your own tent, dome, yurt, or free-design structure to camp in.
What are the different Villages for camping about, and what do they mean?
Lucidity offers its campers 6 Archetypal themed villages to camp within. The Lovers Nest (Representing the Lover Archetype - hosting a world-class cuddle-puddle and many things self-Love… this is not only a ‘couples’ village), the Lunatic Fringe (embodying the Fool or Jester energy - also hosts our <Live> Lunatic Stage), the Warriors Way (Warrior spirit - this showcases much of our Flow and Movement arts… Fire dancing, Glow spinning, Qi-gong, Tai-chi, kung-fu, practice weapon sparing, etc), the Healing Sanctuary (Mystic/Sage energy - hosts our fee-free healing space as well as spiritual and healing workshops), the Family Garden (Mother, Father, Child energies - as well as a home to our eco-conscious and perma-culture workshops and seminars), and finally the Renegade Outpost (Loner/Rebel energy - harnessing the collective of underground crews and housing our Renegade Sound Stage.)
Each village will contain content with the intention of bringing you into greater understanding of yourself through Archetype identification and balance.
Logistics
Will there be a central trash/recycling or do we take out waste with us?
This is a Pack it in / Pack it out event. Our motto is to leave it better than we found it. If you bring garbage or packaging we ask that you plan to pack it out when you leave. There will be recycle, trash, and composting bins available.
What is the food situation (are there places to cook our own food? A common space for all guests or is it up to our camps to set up a kitchen area? Can we bring personal camping stoves, are there fire pits or bbq’s, within our camps)?
Propane BBQs and camping stoves are permitted, but there are absolutely NO OPEN FLAMES or charcoal burners.
Conscious food venders, regulated by SolFood (Sustainable, Organic, and Local) will be providing food during days and evenings, and a local Farmers Market will be made available daily. We encourage the use of food provided through the festival as we are being conscious to make it both affordable and healthy - and it creates less waste and trash than bringing in your own.
Are there shower facilities?
There are showers available on site. We are working to create a fun shower environment!
Where is the closest City/Store?
The Paradise Store is the closest store, located a few miles to the south. Live Oak Campground sits roughly between Santa Barbara and Santa Ynez - both roughly 20 minutes away.
Are all body workers and healers licensed or certified that attend and offer services at Lucidity?
No. Many are, but as an open-source festival that encourages participation we also want to allow those with natural abilities to contribute as they feel fit. We ask all practitioners who are unlicensed or uninsured to refrain from heavy pressure and/or any structural work. We encourage participants to develop a relationship and communicate your needs, concerns, and any questions prior to enjoying the healing arts.
I didn’t get accepted to host my workshop or play with my band, will there still be a way for me to contribute at the festival?
Absolutely. Besides keeping open slots in our workshop & stage schedules to allow for some in-the-moment open-source opportunities just like this, we also have many participant driven sound camps that will be offering space to play and perform. Explore - if you are meant to share a certain gift, the chance to express and collaborate will make itself available!
