Workshops & Presentations

  • Livestock Grazing and Fire Preparedness.

90 min | Altar of Earth

Fire is a natural part of the renewal of our ecology, but when lands go unmanaged the fuel builds up. As we have seen, this can be a catastrophe for the communities affected, plant, animal, and human alike. Lets discuss how we can be prepared and prevent unnecessary harm by designing ecological solutions that keep up safe and keep the land healthy. Livestock, the right plants, and even the way we build houses can have a big impact on whether fire is our friend or foe.

  • Feeding yourself from the land

90 min | Altar of Earth

In the modern world of convenience and cheap food how do we provide for ourselves with the ancestral nourishment our bodies are built for while also nourishing the soil and landscape it comes from? Growing food and feeding yourself is not only about skill but also knowing what should be grown where you live. We will discuss the diets of our ancestors, the shift to modern foods, the effects, and how to adapt responsibly.
