Kirsten Zirngibl is a visual artist who finds beauty in complexity. She treads where technology and design meet natural forms and systems. She takes a scale-free approach to design, drawing inspiration from microbiology and architecture alike.
She spent several years in the entertainment industry as a concept artist and illustrator, but is increasingly focusing on creating independently. She is a science fiction creator first and foremost, with a focus on where that meets abstraction and philosophy.
Escapism is a driving force in her work, via windows to alternative futures that communicate growth, life, and harmony. Creating a “common place” is a way to connect to viewers, and help them connect to each other in turn. Metroplayitan Expanse is an example of this effort. It depicts a scarcity-free metropolis where creativity and artistic expression are cultural priorities.
